September WOW Program! Beginning Wednesday, September 4, the Adult Learning and Discipleship Committee, in partnership with the WOW planners, will present The Visual Bible’s version of Matthew. This powerful and entertaining film is taken word for word from the text of the New International Version of the Bible. Filmed on location in Tunisia,Morocco, and South Africa, Matthew features a cast of thousands with Richard Kiley as Matthew and Bruce Marchiano as Jesus. Please join us in the Meeting Room after dinner on Wednesday evenings in September (and possibly the first week in October) for a unique and inspiring look into the Gospel of Matthew.
Hello All! For those of you I haven’t met, here’s a bit about myself. I’ve lived in East Tennessee most of my life and I still love it here! I have four daughters and one son, ages 11, 14, 16, 19, and 31 respectively. We have more pets than I care to share. We are a big family! We enjoy family trips, home cooking, and creating art. I have Bachelors of Business Administration from East Tennessee State University. I held the positions of Outreach Coordinator and Exhibits and Education Director for Hands On! Regional Museum. After several years there, I decided to homeschool my children and have done so for 12 years. So, I have lots of experience with children of all ages and a strong background in activity and lesson planning. My favorite age groups are preteen and teens. Having raised a few, I can honestly say I adore middle schoolers. This time is a crossroad for many of us. I’m thrilled and humbled to have this opportunity to be a mentor and guide to our kids at WRPC. We hope to foster a growing relationship with Jesus, a deeper understanding of scripture, and a love for community involvement. Our after school program, WRAP ( Waverly Road Afterschool Program), and youth group begin on August 28. WRAP will focus on community outreach as well as helping our students with their needs. Youth group will be filled with fun games, projects, and activities that connect students with God, the church, their families, and our community. I look forward to this new school year. I’m so excited to be of service here at WRPC! Bless you all, Trinity

From our Stephen Ministers Love One Another as I Have Loved You . . . In John 15:12, Jesus says, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” Loving and caring for one another is not just the pastor’s job—it’s something Jesus calls us all to do! Stephen Ministry is a ministry in which people with special gifts for caring can put those gifts to use in an organized way, bringing Jesus’ love and care to those who most need it. If you know someone who is going through a time of transition, contact one of our Stephen Leaders, Sharon Petke, Dave Petke, Diana Eldredge, or Barbara Lane about Stephen Ministry. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to provide focused, confidential, one-to-one Christian care—to help that person experience the healing power of Christ’s love.
Godly Play Update - Jesus washing the feet of the Disciples We are having a lesson on being humble and a servant to others. The disciples were bragging as to which one was the greatest disciple. Jesus placed himself in a role of servant to the disciples, showing them that washing feet is a symbol of our role in the body of Christ. This lesson will be returned to and built upon as we grow in our knowledge of Christ.
